Invisible
For Tupac Shakur

Bars could not hold me
Walls could not stop me
Man could not control me
He tried to keep me down
Instead he found a clown

I stood up for what I believed in
took a bullet or two
but none went through
Went through all sorts of torture
But refused to become another man’s footstool
I would rather lie on my grave
brave and free than live a
life of a poor man and a slave

Even though I am gone
Don’t shed any tears for me
Don’t sit and mourn for me
Keep the good word flowing
Live like nothing happened
My silence will keep me alive
I’ll be invisible but felt like rain

- George Nyeki
