I sit appalled as I watch
all the brains digging deep—before me
attentively,
they’re trying to understand
my doctrine—including its definitions
Sitting placidly amid their noise and haste
I listen to their plan to distract me
from the doctrine buried deep into
the sanctuary of my being
With no possible surrender
they try to direct me to sudden misfortune
Looking closer into their quest
I see men blinded by their own interests
I see men driven by the world’s riches
I see men who have no respect
and it’s then that I realize
how easy it is
to be
