The Tearless Cry

For days I sit in the silence of my mind
Sometimes I am brain dead for hours
And when that time comes
When I have to activate my neurons
I am not surprised by what I see

In the silence of my mind
I see the valley that never ends
The rift crossing from east to west
I see the quest that never bends
Trying very hard to uncover the unsolved
The inevitable mysteries of the mind

In the silence of my mind
I see images moving like in a movie clip
I see the cry of sorrow; the cry of pain
I see the cry of shame; the cry of guilt
Flying from every corner of the room
Trying hard to turn on, my dark side

I see men consumed by hate
I see men driven by rage
I see the cry of agony, the cry of despair
The cry of the masses
Yeaning to breathe freedom
Trying hard to gain dominion over what’s theirs
A dream they have always had

In the silence of my mind
I see flood drifting to the south
I wonder how it never rained but it poured
The clock reads 12:00 midnight
But outside it’s extreme daylight
I see morning come without any warning
What a surprise, am still yawning

Staring at the field on my lot
There is too much dead wood
Than there is in the lumber yard
There are too many wild cats
Than there are in the wilderness

In the silence of my mind
I see a young couple filled with love
They smile, they laugh, and they kiss
Their jars seem to be full
Their love I cannot dismiss
I see an old couple take an evening walk
Their hands glued together
I see them chat with just their eyes
In the silence of my mind
I see a bond that will never end

I see darkness meet daylight
The dark clouds are not too far
I see fire taking over the skies
Leaving those that were once
called dad, mum, sister and brother
Blackened with a pair of holes for eyes

In the silence of my mind
I watch them kneel and retch and pray
For peace, for love, for mankind
I see them march in masses
I see their quest for togetherness

I see the faces of our next generation
In different angles
I see their smiles; I see their sadness
I can’t help but wonder
What have they learned from us?

I sit in the silence of my mind
At the mirror is the silhouette of your shadow
Sitting in silence like the stars at night
I hope you see yourself
If not a figment of your imagination
I can’t help to wonder
In the silence of your mind
Have you ever had A Tearless Cry?
